2015 has been and all-around fantastic year and, as usual, I’m looking forward to squeezing in a few more awesome events before the year’s end! To start with, tomorrow evening I will be showing my travel photography during the First Thursday Art Walk at Contour in Pioneer Square. Admittedly it’s been years since I’ve shown my artwork publicly, so I’m very much looking forward to participating with other members of the design community in “Hidden Talents Unveiled”. So many of us with creative careers have talents and pursuits outside of our daily professions and it’s always fun to see what imaginative minds come up with “after hours”…

If you are in the Seattle area, come by Contour tomorrow evening to check it out:

Portland-based jewelry designer and creator of Fresh Tangerine, Kim Kogane, recently migrated north and now calls Seattle home. Her work is delicate, feminine and youthful. I visited her studio/shop in Pioneer Square to check out her designs and chat with the designer herself.

My other favorites:

Artwork by Peggy Wolf – LOVE her use of color and graphic, fashion-forward images.

Pom-Pom Mobile by Danna Haim – whimsical, unique and just plain fun.

Mara Hoffman’s new collection for Anthropologie – great globally-inspired accessories in bold colors and vibrant patterns.

I have had more than one conversation lately with a real estate agent in which they’ve asked me what is popular right now. This is both in the context of preparing homes to put on the market and also how to advise new or prospective home owners on basic updates they could make to their new home to “bring it into the 21st century” if the property is older. I generally shy away from designing based on Read More
